Letter Photo Board

My wife asked me to make a letter board for the home. I decided to mix it up a bit and add the option for photos as well. These are really neat to have for family announcements and welcoming family or guests. There are several designs out there but I decided to go with a more wood like design. I didn’t want the traditional felt board with plastic letters. Very tacky if you ask me.  Anyway, I got to use my router table again and I’m very much enjoying the extra room.

I used oak backings for the letters and just purchased the pre-cut wooden letters from my local hobby shop. My wife loves it and it’s rather fun making new messages on it. Especially when you’re the one who made it!

Materials Used:

  • 2×4 Stud
  • White Oak
  • 1/4″ Plywood
  • Hard Board
  • Titebond II Wood Glue
  • Pre-Cut Letters & Numbers
  • Watco Danish Oil (Dark Walnut)
