Drill Bit Storage

I needed something quick and handy for my growing collection of drill bits. I made an identical cabinet for my router bit collection as a trial run and I liked it. So I just duplicated it for my drill bits.

It’s just a basic cabinet for my drill bits. Nothing elaborate or anything.

I started with a square mitered frame out of 2×4 studs and put slats across the inside with holes an inch apart from each other for the drill bits.

Then I finished it up with some doors, strap hinges, and a lock latch.

In the future I may change the design, but for now this suits my needs.

Materials Used:

  • 3/4″ Common Pine Plywood
  • 2×4 Studs
  • Liberty 1 ¼” Birch Cabinet Knobs
  • Everbilt 3″ Double Hinge Safe Latch
  • Everbilt 3″ Strap Hinges
  • 2″ Construction Screws
  • Titebond II Wood Glue
  • 4″ Lag Bolts
