I remember going out and searching for wooden crates for the first time. I had a mission to make a chair for my kids. Well, the first version didn’t turn out like I wanted it to. But it taught me some valuable lessons in planning for things ahead of time. I made this “Time Out Chair” just on the fly without any forethought of design. I thought it was cute making the back in the shape of a “T”.

It was solid and the kids still use it, but I wasn’t happy with how it looked.
After making the adjustable height workbench, and getting more tools, I decided to give it another try. This time I looked for designs and put more thought and planning into it. However as you see in the video, I didn’t really do research or print out a template for the rockers angle. Again, I didn’t think it would be complicated, but I should have planned for that too.
Just goes to show you that when you’re not careful, and meticulous, problems will occur.
My kids use it a lot. It is very solid. I chose not to make it with arm wrests because it was a kid’s rocking chair.
