Plasma Water Table Journey #2

Today I used a Hercules brand 60grit flap disc that’s supposedly had 4 times the life. Boy is that a lie! No more than an hour later trying to just get surface rust off, the disk was gone. Needless to say I did get all the surface rust off. I then got my grinder out and made some bevels for the weld to have some decent penetration. I have no idea what I’m doing.

I measured and marked out roughly 2 1/2″ gaps for the slat slots. I tried to get scientific, but it is what it is. It’s not pretty, but it will do the job. Doing this, or any other project will always tell you what you don’t have and what you need. So I need to work on getting some more measuring/marking tools. After that, I set up the Evolution S380-CPS and went to work on the slat slots.

The stop on the Evolution S380-CPS isn’t that great, and I had to compromise by setting the depth to place a small piece of metal on the bolt every time I cut. I guess I just need to get a longer bolt to go in that depth stop. But who has time for that when you’re rushing through stuff.
