Plasma Water Table Journey #6

We are nearing the finish line and it’s getting exciting! I spoke with my new buddy Tim from the Tim Welds channel on YouTube. Go check him out! Awesome content and lots to learn! He gave me some excellent advice and confirmed some things for me. I so appreciate that.

I went ahead and started with resizing the water reservoir to roughly 4″ instead of 6″. There were multiple reasons such as less water and more room on the bottom for storage. I still wanted to put some kind of center support. Anyway, Tim is a great guy and I appreciate him getting back with me.

I measured out 2″ down allowing the offset for the 3/16″ of my cutting tip. The PrimeWeld Cut60 never disappoints and cut very accurately with ease. After cutting, I took my flap disc and cleaned up the slag and sharp edges.

With that out of the way, I wanted to get an accurate measurement for the side rails that will hold the reservoir. After marking the cut line, I fired up the Evolution S380-CPS and made all the cuts.

I left about 1/8″ on the ends to weld the rails to the legs. Then I welded the sides and I was done. I had some concerns about the locations of these welds, but Tim assured me they would be fine.

After cutting up the rails, I welded both of them on and it looked great! I cleaned up the welds after with a flap disc.

I flipped the table upside down and measured up the space for the center support. This support was important to me because when I pushed down in the center of the reservoir it bowed and I didn’t like that. I figured it wouldn’t hurt and would be better support for the reservoir. Besides, I feel better knowing there is a cross support for the table too. By the way, that was the side piece of the RV ramp that I mentioned in the PrimeWeld Cut60 Episode.

I then flipped the table over and installed the reservoir and slats. It’s just about done! I need to do some more touch up, cleaning, and then paint. So far, everything is great and the table doesn’t rock or teeter. I double checked the squareness and everything checks out! I can’t wait to see the completed project. Next, I’m goin gto do some touch up, cleaning, and then paint. Until next time, take care!
